“I believe in the rule of law in this country and an independent judiciary is key to that.” -Judge Neil Gorsuch.

“When I became a judge, they gave me a gavel, not a rubber stamp. And nobody comes to my court expecting a rubber stamp,” said Judge Gorsuch.
The queries were so repetitive in apparent attempts to cause Gorsuch to ‘slip up’ and opine or show favoritism for one side or the other, that he quipped to Sen. Leahy that he admired “the various ways …” [that they try to ask the same question] and that Leahy would “be a formidable companion in the courtroom.”
Sen. Lindsay Graham asked Gorsuch what he would have done—during his interview with President Trump—if the president would have asked him to commit to overturning Roe v. Wade. Gorsuch replied emphatically, “I would have walked out the door.”
