The big question was…were we right to pour everything into California? Did we indeed hear from the Lord? For those who may not remember, five years ago, while preaching in Stockton, I had a vivid dream—the kind where you don’t know if you are awake or asleep. I saw Highway 99 in California. I saw it from Red Bluff all the way to Southern California. This artery of the great central valley is special to God. In the dream I saw a river—Ezekiel’s river flowing with great healing properties, trees of righteousness on both banks. The voice in my dream said, “This is a corridor of glory.” I did not understand why I was getting this dream. It was hidden in the Spirit until just recently. It portends a miracle of a magnitude I can’t fathom.
Then in December of last year the Holy Spirit told me the dream was a mandate for me to go back to California and take our tent to key cities down this corridor.
We have no idea what kind of a crowd would come out to a tent. It was not just raining it was hailing! The enemy said that I would pay for a sentence I wrote about California—that there was a secret the left didn’t want anyone outside of here to know—that people here are hungry for Christ.
Every lie of the devil was crushed as we drove up. The crowd came early and they were excited. Before starting time we frantically added more chairs, until it was standing room only. The pictures do no show the people outside.
We have never seen an atmosphere more charged or electric. There was never a doubt that miracles would come. The only question was when.
They said Marysville was oppressed. They said that addiction and witchcraft had a firm grip on the people. They said that we would feel a heaviness here unlike anywhere else. They said a breakthrough would be near impossible. They were right about everything except the breakthrough.
Whatever principality blanketed the city with oppression was torn open by the worship team. Whatever demonic activity pervaded here came to a dead stop.
My message was called What you need. Here is a quick summation:
Matthew 4: 16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.” Jesus went to the darkest place. Their story is one of endless misery for centuries.
What happened to them? What did Jesus do?
Luke 4:17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
What is good news to a poor person? The poorest people I know are rich. What is good news to the brokenhearted? Pills? Robin Williams had everything. What is good news to the captive, probation? the blind another half-answer, the oppressed methadone?
Matthew 6:8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” Only God knows what you really need.
Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
There is no more miserable orphan that those that know they have a father. Luke 15: 17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”
What you need is to surrender your idea of happiness. You need to hear the knock at the door. Someone is trying to get in. Revelation 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
This time let’s do it right. I want the real Christianity. I want the real miracle. I want to let it happen to me. Romans 12: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
At this, I told them to come and surrender to Christ. They came instantly. They came passionately. Leaders told me at least one hundred souls, others said way more. The picture shows only half of those who came to Christ. Only God knows the actual number.
The night was crowned with undeniable healing miracles too numerous to do justice in this report. Again, only God knows how many miracles flowed under the tent. What we do know is that the Dream is now a reality. We have heard from God and California will be visited!
P.S. Last night was not designated as a miracle service. That is tonight. That begs a question: If last night with all of its power was not the actual miracle service what is tonight going to be like?! MM
