It is 3 a.m. I sit straight up in bed and God says, “Study what Satan is doing to young people in America today.” This was a mandate for me to update my information. The next day I began my research. What I found out was the most sobering and horrifying information ever. I do not need to spout the statistics and trends to you, but the fact is that the devil has a contract out on an entire generation.
This led to intercession. I don’t recall the time or how long I dwelt in the presence of Jesus. This was the birth place of our Living Proof Crusades and my utter resolve that this generation must behold the supernatural power of Jesus.
However, another voice was invading the room and it was evil. Soon I could hear Satan boasting of what he will do to the youth of America: “I will deceive them. I will make them addicts. I will pervert their sexual identity. I will make them poor. I will enslave them to hopeless circumstances. I will drive them to insanity and mass suicide.” Then, right in the middle of this wicked tirade came God’s voice like a righteous clap of thunder, “BUT I WILL POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT ON THEM AND THEY WILL PROPHESY!”
A young man named Samuel had a similar experience of hearing the voice of God:
“Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.” Then the Lord said to Samuel: “Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.” [1 Samuel 3:10-11]
When the Lord spoke to me, I learned something about God that I had known, but had never fully realized: God is always telling youth what He is about to do. Young people have always been Jesus’ favorite way to bring the church the latest news. However, at this moment in history He is saying the most explosive things He has ever said to youth—and He is giving them a job that He has never offered before.
The Day of Pentecost was not only the arrival of the Holy Spirit, but it began the miracle of sons and daughters prophesying the mighty purposes of God for these times. The assignment He is giving your generation is to make the Church tingle and vibrate at coming events and divine interventions!
Here is what you must do to let God use you in the fullest demonstration of His power. As Joshua told his prior to their beginning their assignment of conquering the Promised Land:
“SANCTIFY YOURSELVES FOR TOMORROW THE LORD WILL DO WONDERS AMONG YOU.” [Joshua 3:5]
1. Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow! Reject a culture that is cruel and evil no matter how popular it is. See through the lies and shake off the peer pressure that would dull you to your prophetic nature.
Just as “Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.”” [Daniel 1: 8-10]
Daniel said, “No” to compromise. Then he proved that a young man who is set apart and sanctified unto the Lord looks better than other young men of his generation. However, the real miracle was that he was supernaturally able to change the course of history by prophetically telling the king what he had dreamed and interpreting that dream.
2. The Lord will work! Do not throw your tomorrows away! Just like Daniel, say “No!” and clean yourself up for a future of prophesying. Young lady: don’t obsess over a husband. Dance with God and He will bring the right man to cut in! Young man: fear not about what you will do in the future. No door will be closed to you, for God Himself will blast the doors open. He will keep His promises to care for you and to guide you.
3. He will work wonders among you! Signs and wonders will be the constant crown of faithful preaching. You will lay hands on the sick and they will recover! You will watch miracles of every kind! God will alert you to devils, and to the traps and schemes of men.
Do not seek a Christianity that is devoid of miracles. You are already supernatural. The world does not need more great inventions, entrepreneurs, or band-aid-solutions. This world needs to be transformed into the Kingdom of God by the supernatural men and women of this Prophetic Generation!
