“God is moving in California. I believe that we are on the verge of another Jesus People movement. I know it’s the middle of a global pandemic, I know things are crazy. But in the midst of it all, God is moving!” -Sean Feucht

On Sunday, worship leader, author/speaker and founder of Burn 24/7, Sean Feucht posted an article on his Facebook page, with the comment: “Woke up to the LA TIMES calling this a REVIVAL!!! You know God is doing something when a miracle like this happens!!!” (Screengrab image: Sean Feucht-Facebook video)

Feucht was referring to the worship gatherings that have been happening at Huntington Beach, California, which have rapidly grown and this weekend saw many spontaneous baptisms in the ocean.

Staff writer for the Daily Pilot, Hillary Davis described it this way:

“There’s a revival taking place on the sand at Huntington Beach.

On Friday, at least 200 evangelical Christian faithful gathered near lifeguard tower 20 to hear the word and be motivated to spread it. They sang and raised their hands skyward in praise. Several walked into the cool waves of the Pacific to be baptized at sunset … The seaside outreach movement is called Saturate OC and co-organizer Jessi Green calls it a “ripple-effect” revival, not one led by a single preacher.”

Photos from the article, and videos posted by Feucht revealed a huge crowd of people on the beach with hands raised in worship.

More were seen wading into the waves of the Pacific Ocean to be baptized, as Feucht excitedly described what was taking place, noting that this could be the start of another move of God similar to that seen during the late 60s-early 70s. (Screengrab image: Sean Feucht-Facebook video)

“I believe that we are on the verge of another Jesus People movement,” said Feucht. “I know it’s the middle of a global pandemic, I know things are crazy. But in the midst of it all, God is moving!”

According to the Daily Pilot article, the gatherings will continue on Fridays throughout July and the organizers “hope to draw 2,000 disciples who can fan out to bring in 50,000 Believers.”

As the co-organizer Jessi Green declared to the cheering crowd, “The Church has left the building!”
