“A Oneness of the Spirit Is Emerging”

Do we truly recognize the season we are in? Are we fully aware of the historical magnitude of what is taking place? There is a sovereign work of the Spirit that has been preparing us for these days, long before we were even born. There is a supernatural element at work that is far beyond our human comprehension, and the Holy Spirit has been preparing us for some major upgrades.
A Holy Exchange
There is a oneness of the Spirit that has been emerging in recent years that has come as a result of being pressed. The troubles and pressures, which many have experienced, have served as tools to crush our flesh and draw out the life-giving force of the Spirit. It is a holy exchange that is totally supernatural and preparing us for the glory to come.
The Lord highlighted this to me recently on a very practical level. In the last two years, I have seen a growing phenomenon between Bobby (my husband) and me. We’ve been married for 34 years and have always had extremely different personalities and perspectives on things. Throughout the early years of our relationship, our communication styles and ways of dealing with circumstances greatly differed, and we had to work hard at understanding each other. At times, it was frustrating to find common ground.
But through the years, we have grown more and more in oneness of heart and mind. Because of our mutual desire for the Lord and things of the Spirit, we’ve actually become more and more alike. We’ve even joked lately that he’s becoming more prophetic and I’m becoming more pastoral (which would have seemed impossible years ago)! But, it’s gone even further than that. (Photo via Unsplash)
In the last two years, I have seen a pattern emerge. I will be thinking about something I’d like to do or somewhere I’d like to go. Within the same twelve hours, Bobby suggests the same thing. Other times, I will be concerned about a particular issue but haven’t really mentioned it. Within the same day, Bobby brings it up, saying it’s been on his mind. Then, I’ll be thinking of someone we should meet, and he comes within a few hours and says, “Hey, I was thinking about getting together with so and so…” and it’s the exact same person. Trust me – this is a work of the Spirit! The fellowship of the Spirit is actually making us think like one person.
“So all the men of Israel gathered against the city, united as one man.” (Judges 20:11, ESV)
Thinking God’s Thoughts
This is what happens when we grow closer and closer to Holy Spirit. We actually begin to think God’s thoughts. We share the mind and thoughts of Christ! Because He’s thinking about something, we think about it. Because His heart is turned toward something or someone, our heart is turned to it. This is the power of being united in the Spirit! He will take people who, in the natural, are completely opposite, and draw them to the same conclusion. As we exchange our flesh for the Spirit, lay down our own thoughts and ideas, and draw closer to Him, we end up drawing closer to one another and collectively thinking like Him!
This is not only an observation, but an invitation. Because of the coming outpouring of His Spirit upon the earth, He is inviting us to make this exchange of our flesh for His Spirit. It is necessary for us to get out of our “natural” way of thinking and make way for the supernatural. As we get into His presence and turn our hearts toward Him, He comes and makes a trade: our heart for His. Our thoughts for His. Our desires for His. Our faith for His. Our wildest dreams for His. It’s an incredible exchange that can redeem anything and transform everything.
An Atmosphere of Heaven
The good news is, God has already been doing this within the Body of Christ, right in the midst of enemy warfare. A oneness of heart and mind is emerging as we surrender our control and embrace the Spirit’s directives concerning our future. Even as the enemy presses in, a unity of the Spirit is forming from all the chaos and is preparing the way for the epic changes to come.
A Kingdom exchange of biblical proportions is taking place and displacing the forces that seek to shut us down. The atmosphere is changing. Our collective faith and hope in the Spirit is squeezing out our enemies, and the atmosphere of Heaven is permeating the earth. (Photo via Unsplash)
Do not underestimate this exchange. It is opening up portals to the supernatural and doorways to destiny. Where devils are trying to divide us, the Spirit is uniting us. And nothing can stop a people who are one.
“The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the LORD.” (2 Chronicles 30:12, ESV)
