More than 5,000 students gathered for a night of worship and Bible study that was promoted by football coach Hugh Freeze and basketball coach Bruce Pearl.

“I’ve seen Auburn basketball beat Kentucky, I’ve seen Auburn football beat Alabama, but I have never seen something like I did on Tuesday night,” student Michael Floyd told television station WFSA.

Kristen Carr, the editor of The Plainsman, was in attendance and documented the incredible moment on video.

“Everyone was so just excited and joyful,” Carr told the television station. “Never in my life. I was even talking to adults who were there that were a part of it, and they said that they had never witnessed anything like that.”

A number of students accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Praise the Lord, War Eagle!

Afterwards, as many as 200 people were baptized at a nearby lake on campus. Coach Freeze was among those who assisted with the baptisms.

“We serve an awesome God who can do amazing things. My prayer obviously is that all these decisions were genuine decisions and heart change. It’s awesome to do it in this environment, but now is where things get tough,” men’s basketball team chaplain Jeremy Napier told the student newspaper.

There’s lots of dumpster fires burning across our nation at the moment, but what happened at Auburn University should give all of us a heaping helping of hope.

In spite of the culture chaos God is still in control and He’s still in the business of moving in the hearts of young people, not just in America, but around the world. Breaking Christian News
