“I think every day that goes on with the ceasefire, it’s going to be harder for them to restart the war machine, and that is exactly what Hamas intends. They understand that the longer this ceasefire goes on, the more pressure will build on Israel to continue that ceasefire indefinitely, and if they continue it indefinitely, Hamas does not get wiped out, and Hamas survives. That’s their strategy here, I believe.” -CBN News Correspondent Chuck Holton

(Jerusalem, Israel) — [CBN News] Monday marks the fourth day of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and the ongoing release of hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th. Israeli sources now report the ceasefire may be extended much longer to release more hostages. (Screengrab image: via CBN News)

For the past three days, heartwarming scenes have played out in Israel as families are being reunited for the first time after weeks of captivity, having been kidnapped by Hamas. Fourteen Israelis were released on Sunday, including four-year-old Avigail Edan, an Israeli-American. Hamas killed her parents in front of her during the massacre on October 7th.

“I just spoke with …(Joe) Biden with great excitement, of course, also about the little girl, Abigail. What a joy to see her with us. But, on the other hand, what a pity that she returns to the reality of not having parents. She has no parents—but she has a whole nation that embraces her, and we will take care of all her needs,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

…Joe Biden took a direct interest in Avigail. “Through intensive US diplomacy, she’s now safely in Israel, and we continue to press and expect for additional Americans will be released as well. And we will not stop working until every hostage is returned to their loved ones,” said Biden. (Screengrab image: via CBN News)

So far, 40 Israelis have been freed, with more expected on Monday for a total of fifty Israelis. In Jerusalem and the West Bank, Palestinians celebrated the return of dozens of prisoners. Many of them have committed attempted murder, stabbings, shootings, and have thrown Molotov cocktails. One woman called for more kidnappings so more prisoners could be freed.

It’s likely more Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages will be released. Israel’s war cabinet is deciding whether or not to extend the ceasefire for ten days with ten hostages released for each day. This may prolong Israel’s military campaign for up to two weeks.

“I think every day that goes on with the ceasefire, it’s going to be harder for them to restart the war machine, and that is exactly what Hamas intends,” CBN News Correspondent Chuck Holton explained. “They understand that the longer this ceasefire goes on, the more pressure will build on Israel to continue that ceasefire indefinitely, and if they continue it indefinitely, Hamas does not get wiped out, and Hamas survives. That’s their strategy here, I believe.”

Despite the delay, Benjamin Netanyahu visited IDF troops in Gaza and pledged total victory.

“We are here in the (Gaza) Strip with our heroic fighters,” Netanyahu said. “We are making every effort to return our hostages, and at the end of the day, we will return everyone. We have three goals in this war: eliminate Hamas, return all of our hostages, and ensure that Gaza does not return to be a threat to the State of Israel again.”

“Mr. Prime Minister, it seems you have lost your moral compass and need a reality check! Emily Hand was not ‘lost.’ She was kidnapped by a terror organization worse than ISIS that murdered her stepmother. Emily and more than 30 other Israeli children were taken hostage by Hamas, and you @LeoVaradkar are trying to legitimize and normalize terror. Shame on you!” -Eli Cohen, Israel’s foreign minister

McGregor called Varadkar a “disgrace” for describing 9-year-old Emily Hand as having been “lost” and then “found,” terms the champion boxer said didn’t equate to the horror of what she actually faced at the hands of Hamas terrorists when she was taken Oct. 7 and held for weeks.

“She was abducted by an evil terrorist organization,” McGregor wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “What is with you and your government and your paid-for media affiliates constantly downplaying/attempting to repress horrific acts that happen to children? You are a disgrace.”

He continued, “The day after a stabbing of children in Ireland, NOT ONE PAPER HAD IT ON THEIR FRONT COVER. We will not forget”…

Mike Johnson (R-LA) warned that Biden wants to turn illegal migrants into Democrat voters—hence the reason the administration is looking the other way at one of the worst border crises of US history. “The Biden administration has done this intentionally. [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas has done this intentionally. For what reason? Everybody asks me all the time. I think that ultimately they hope to turn all these illegals into voters for their side,” Johnson said. “It sounds sinister, but there’s no other explanation for what’s happening down there. The National Secular Society, a UK secular organization that has worked since 1866 to see disestablishment become a reality, said the bill will be introduced to Parliament on Dec. 6.

[Faithwire.com] An atheist activist group in the US is praising an expected UK bill that aims to disestablish the Church of England, potentially separating the official church from the government. (Screengrab image)

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), an atheist group, called the move “brilliant” and Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor said she and her group are “cheered” to see the potential break.

“At a moment when the United States is struggling to retain our secular democracy, we’re cheered by the news that disestablishment is being debated and contemplated in Britain,” Gaylor said in a statement. “The privileged of the Church of England is holding back progress and allows it to force its doctrines on the majority of non-Christians. It’s time the British tell the Church of England to ‘sod off.'”

The FFRF called religious inclusion at King Charles III’s recent coronation troubling, mentioning the king’s “kneeling before a Bible and kissing it” and pondering whether the sight helped spark the forthcoming legislation.

Charles also pledged an oath to uphold the Bible, though such proclamations are an historic part of the coronation process, as CBN Digital has documented.

The relationship between the UK government and the Church of England is one that gives 26 bishops seats in the House of Lords, with the monarch—King Charles III—officially considered “Defender of the Faith,” according to Christian Today.

Plus, there are state-funded Church of England schools.

Gaylor’s statement comes as a new bill from Paul Scriven, a Liberal Democrat in the House of Lords, reportedly seeks to disestablish the Church of England.

The National Secular Society, a UK secular organization that has worked since 1866 to see disestablishment become a reality, said the bill will be introduced to Parliament on Dec. 6.

Scriven has said the bill is “long overdue” and that the Church’s current standing is a “historic quirk,” Christian Today reported…
