The Arizona court ruled that because Roe v. Wade was overturned, there is no federal law preventing the state from reinstating the law banning termination of pre-born lives.

Until now, abortion has been legal in Arizona up to 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The state’s high court ruling reviewed a 2022 decision by the state Court of Appeals that said doctors couldn’t be charged for performing the procedure in the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The ruling upholds an 1864 law banning nearly all abortions except to save the life of the mother.

An older court decision had blocked enforcing the 1864 law shortly after the US Supreme Court issued its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision inventing a constitutional right to an abortion.

Then, after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of 2022, state Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) persuaded a state judge in Tucson to lift the state’s blockade of the 1864 law.

The Arizona court ruled that because Roe v. Wade was overturned, there is no federal law preventing the state from reinstating the law banning termination of pre-born lives.

The ban won’t be enforced for 14 days and faces yet another battle as pro-abortion activists are working to put a measure on the November ballot that would expand abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy.

The ruling is fanning the nationwide flames of the abortion debate.

…Biden condemned the measure as “cruel” and [Kamala] Harris is heading to Arizona Friday to campaign on the issue.

“We believe women’s lives are at stake across the country… make Roe v Wade the law of the land,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Tuesday.

However, pro-life advocates are praising the high court’s decision.

Lila Rose, president of Live Action, called the ruling, “An amazing win for human rights and children’s lives!”

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser says the group is celebrating this “enormous victory for unborn children and their mothers,” while warning there is more work to be done.

“The compassion of the pro-life movement won in court today, but we must continue to fight,” she said in a statement.

“Governor Hobbs and her pro-abortion allies will pour millions into deceiving the voters about the upcoming amendment that permits abortion on demand when babies can feel pain and survive outside the womb. We must defeat this extreme measure that would force Arizonans to pay for abortions and eliminate health protections for women,” Dannenfelser added.

Former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life advocate Abby Johnson praised Jesus for the court’s decision.

“A HUGE win for life in Arizona after the Arizona Supreme Court has ruled that the state’s 1864 pre-Roe ban on nearly ALL abortions,” she wrote on X.

“Thousands of babies are going to be saved by this protection over their life,” Johnson continued. “Praise Jesus!” Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

“Women in other states who may have been injured by abortion practitioners willing to break the laws of other places need to be sure that Virginia will not provide a hiding place for these rogue abortionists. Thank you, Governor Youngkin for rejecting this dangerous bill.” -Virginia Society for Human Life president Olivia Gans Turner

(Richmond, VA) — [LifeSiteNews.com] Virginia Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently vetoed two pro-abortion measures that would have enabled the abortion industry to evade punishment for violating the laws of other states, but signed a third law preventing law enforcement from using electronically-stored menstrual health data in criminal investigations. NBC Washington reports that Youngkin vetoed bills that would have blocked extraditions to other states for those who flee to Virginia to violate their home states’ pro-life laws and would have forbidden state medical authorities from disciplining Virginia doctors for helping violate other states’ laws.

America’s “cooperative extradition system could collapse if individual states were to carve out crimes for which they would not recognize codified laws because of differing political positions,” the governor said in his veto messages. He added that he did not want to “ope[n] the door to a resurgence of unsafe, risky abortions occurring outside of clinical settings.”

“Women in other states who may have been injured by abortion practitioners willing to break the laws of other places need to be sure that Virginia will not provide a hiding place for these rogue abortionists,” responded Virginia Society for Human Life president Olivia Gans Turner. “Thank you, Governor Youngkin for rejecting this dangerous bill”…

Cass’ groundbreaking report reveals that mental health therapy is the best approach for gender dysphoric children, rather than rushing to put them on hormones or puberty blockers or performing mutilating and irreversible surgeries. Her report also warns that if children are permitted to make choices to physically and socially conform with their gender of choice, rather than receiving the necessary treatment for their underlying mental health issues, they will experience significant negative psychological repercussions.

[DailySignal.com] It’s been a red-letter week for destroying the gender narrative. And the trans juggernaut just hit another speed bump. (Image: Pexels)

Fresh off the heels of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announcing that it would not allow transgender-identified men to compete in women’s athletic events in any of its association’s 239 small private schools, a landmark study was released on Wednesday that defies the hysterical warning that if gender dysphoric adolescents don’t receive “gender-affirming care,” they will kill themselves.

The new study from British pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass confirms what we’ve always known: Children presenting with sudden onset gender dysphoria are actually suffering from other mental health diagnoses—not true gender dysphoria. Her research debunks the gender ideologues’ frequent talking point: that the imposition of medical “gender-affirming care” on mentally ill children is not only necessary, but life-saving.

Cass’ research instead reveals that children who think they are transgender disproportionately have mental health issues stemming from a difficult family situation or domestic abuse. They are also more likely to be neurodiverse and have a co-morbid autism spectrum disorder.

Cass reveals that “gender affirming” medical interventions would not remedy any of these psychological issues. Effectively using such interventions would mean turning a blind eye to the real underlying psychological distress with which gender-confused children often struggle.

Yes, you read that right. Securing medical “gender affirming” care creates the negative psychological repercussions gender identitarians warn us about. And the failure to receive it does not.

At last, the narrative about adolescent gender dysphoria has started to crumble.

Conservatives and gender critics have long warned against rushing to chemically castrate and mutilate gender-confused kids, advocating instead for the European approach of “watchful waiting” and mental health counseling. It seems they were right all along.

Cass’ report on gender dysphoria was the second damning study to be released in 10 days. It was launched soon after another study that breaches the once seemingly impenetrable dam of gender identity built by the White House, cultural elites, celebrities, and politicized medical groups.

Dutch study of 2,700 children revealed that a significant majority of gender-confused children grow out of that feeling by the time they are full grown adults. This newly published research tracked adolescents for over 15 years and found that gender confusion in children drastically decreased over time, supporting the argument that when children believe they are transgender, it is often nothing more than a passing sensation—and not indisputable fact. (Image: Pexels)

Both Cass’ study and the recent Dutch study argue against transitioning kids who report gender dysphoria. Together, they advise for holistic treatment of these adolescents, treatment which addresses the complex psychological reasons a child may think he or she [is] born in the wrong body.

Gender-confused children have been lied to, and the adults who have lied to them must be held accountable. The flood of litigation challenging these pernicious practices is only just beginning. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

As with abortion, Francis has little choice but to stand up and proclaim that gender ideology violates Church teachings on the dignity of man. Even a liberal pope must bow to tradition and the Church’s teachings.

[PJMedia.com] The Vatican has issued a major statement that strongly condemns transgender surgeries and says that “gender ideology” has no place in the Church. (Image: Pixabay)

“It follows that any sex-change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the unique dignity the person has received from the moment of conception,” the document, titled “Infinite Dignity,” said. The Church called gender surgeries and surrogacy “grave violations of human dignity.”

The document was written by the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Argentine Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, a close Francis advisor.

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) is the highest authority in the Vatican on matters of right and wrong, good and evil. It’s not especially surprising that such a strong statement opposing transgender surgeries would be issued, considering the previous teachings of the Church. But Pope Francis has been seen as “welcoming” LGBTQ people, even allowing for the blessing of same-sex couples.

The statement certainly disappointed the LGBTQ lobby…

“We have received thousands of messages and stories from people sharing that underage exposure to pornography negatively impacted their life. Early porn exposure is tied to anxiety, violence, self-loathing, body dysphoria, addiction, and sexual function issues. It is also linked to an increased likelihood of committing sexual assault and rape.” -Helen Taylor, Exodus Cry’s Vice President of Impact

[CaliforniaFamily.org] The state legislature is considering whether to make California the 12th state in the Union to require pornography websites to keep minors from seeing their content by taking “reasonable steps” to verify users are adults. The bill, AB 3080, authored by Assemblyman Juan Alanis (R-Modesto) faces its first test on Tuesday of next week in a hearing before the Assembly’s Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee. (Image: Pixabay)

According to Alanis’s bill fact sheet, California’s existing laws don’t require adult websites to verify the age of a majority of their users. As a result, children are exposed to obscene, indecent, and damaging content all the time. In 2022, Common Sense performed a survey of 1,300 minors regarding their consumption of pornography. Most children gain access to pornography at the age that they receive their smartphones. 58% of the children reported accidental exposure to pornography. Among those who intentionally consumed pornography, 71% did so within the week of the survey. Alarmingly, 15% first encountered pornography at age 10 or younger.

“Some studies have even shown correlations between the rise of consumption of porn and the increase in sex trafficking, child pornography, and sexual abuse,” Alanis’s fact sheet stated. “California has long been on the forefront of legislation that aims to protect children from abuse and exploitation, yet, not restricting access to pornographic content leaves California minors at risk of psychological damage that could last a lifetime.”

Assembly Bill 3080 (AB 3080) will require websites that host pornographic content, to employ the use of age verification software to prevent minors from accessing obscene and indecent material online. In addition, this bill will prohibit the companies who perform these age verification requirements from retaining personal information of users.

Exodus Cry Age Verification Bill Tracker

Organizations around the country have pushed age-verification laws in state legislatures in response to the flood of pornography impacting minors. One of those is an anti-sex trafficking organization, Exodus Cry, which produced several documentaries regarding the harms of pornography and its links to sex trafficking. Its “Protect Children Not Porn” website features “Raised on Porn: The New Sex Ed,” a documentary that exposes the ways pornography has become the new sex education for children and unpacks the dangerous lifelong implications of this global phenomenon. (Image: Pixabay)

“We have received thousands of messages and stories from people sharing that underage exposure to pornography negatively impacted their life,” wrote Helen Taylor, Exodus Cry’s Vice President of Impact, in a letter supporting SB 3080. “Early porn exposure is tied to anxiety, violence, self-loathing, body dysphoria, addiction, and sexual function issues. It is also linked to an increased likelihood of committing sexual assault and rape.”

Another organization advocating around the country for Age Verification laws is the California Family Council partner organization the Family Policy Alliance (FPA). Joseph Kohm, FPA’s Director of Public Policy, has been flying around the country testifying for these proposals in state legislatures; he will be testifying on behalf of AB 3080 as well.

“Studies show that 53% of male adolescents and 39% of female adolescents actually believe the lie that pornography is an accurate portrayal of sex. Thus, adolescents are learning about sexuality from a perspective which portrays sex as physical abuse, instead of receiving age-appropriate sex education from a parent or guardian.” Kohm wrote in his AB 3080 support letter. “The age verification requirements in AB 3080 are necessary to prevent minors from encountering inappropriate and pornographic material and to empower parents to protect their kids from such exposure.”

Similar age verification bills have already passed in 11 states and been introduced in 24 others, but opposition groups have filed lawsuits. For instance, the Free Speech Coalition sued over Texas’s Age Verification law, but was defeated last month in the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Its ruling stated, “Applying rational-basis review, the age-verification requirement is rationally related to the government’s legitimate interest in preventing minors’ access to pornography… Therefore, the age-verification requirement does not violate the First Amendment.”

“Just like retail and restaurant establishments are required to make a reasonable effort to verify the age of customers buying alcohol to prevent the negative effects on minors, websites with obscene and indecent material harmful to minors should be required to conduct age verification as well,” Greg Burt, Vice President of the California Family Council, said.
