As I write this, our crêpe myrtles are blooming. They’re always late bloomers, and sometimes we wonder if those blossoms are going to come at all! But right around the time the other flowers in our neighborhood are fading, here come ours, cheery and fresh. The bright red blossoms may never be early, yet neither are they ever late. They are always right on time, so somewhere, beautiful flowers can still be seen on our street.
While the Lord is omnipresent, there is one place He isn’t. He is never in a hurry! His timing is always perfect. He may not be early, but neither is He ever late.
Over thirty years ago, in one particular month, I received a strong word three times, in three different locations, about a visitation “pure and holy from the throne of God” that was coming. I was so excited! I expected it to happen at any moment. Then, after many years I began to ask, “Lord, is it going to happen in my lifetime?”
Now we are starting to hear reports about a move of God happening, and it brings me great joy. I believe we will hear even more reports, because this is not a local move limited to any one place. This is the season of God’s moving. The time has finally come!
“The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land” Song of Solomon 2:12.
The voice of the turtle dove! The Lord is faithful. His promises are true and amen. That which He desires will surely be accomplished.
This is the season of God beginning to move in greater ways — the season of the rain! We are to ask for rain in the time of the rain!
“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field” Zechariah 10:1.
“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth” Hosea 6:3.
“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you” Hosea 10:12.
These, and others, are scriptures we can pray into as we spend time with the Lord in His Word and in His presence.
“He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied…” Isaiah 53:11.
Today, there is being birthed a people whose heart is after God. A people who love Him and walk in His ways. A people born of the Spirit, who the Lord can fellowship with and take pleasure in. A people through whom God can move.
May we be a part of that people. May the Lord use us, wherever He has us, in whatever way He would so desire, be it big or small. May the passion of our hearts, our sole desire, simply be to please the Lord, that He see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied.
