This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end,” begins the stunning order from the Oval Office.

“Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding,” the EO notes. “Moreover, these vulnerable youths’ medical bills may rise throughout their lifetimes, as they are often trapped with lifelong medical complications, a losing war with their own bodies, and, tragically, sterilization.”

“Accordingly, it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.”

The remarkable directive from President Trump calls for “ending reliance” on what it refers to as “junk science,” explaining that “the blatant harm done to children by chemical and surgical mutilation cloaks itself in medical necessity, spurred by guidance from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), which lacks scientific integrity.”

In light of the scientific concerns with the WPATH guidance, government agencies “shall rescind or amend all policies that rely on WPATH guidance.”

When a reporter tried to blame the week-old Trump Administration for the high cost of eggs, Leavitt hit back with facts.

Elon Musk, who heads the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), posted video of a reporter challenging Leavitt about President Donald Trump’s government spending pause.

When the reporter suggested that crucial spending was being halted, Leavitt noted that, during the pause, DOGE and OMB discovered “a preposterous waste of taxpayer money”:

“DOGE and OMB also found that there was about to be $50 million taxpayer dollars that went out the door to fund condoms in Gaza.”

In one video clip, Leavitt provides examples of the types of illegal aliens the Trump Administration has been deporting.

If federal agencies and programs had been properly operating based on underlying statutes, there would be much less need for a dramatic spending pause. Sadly, that has not been the status quo for the last several years. The Biden administration twisted as much of the federal government as possible into serving the agenda of the activist left…

On Monday, the Office of Management and Budget sent a memo to federal agencies calling for a temporary pause on spending for grants, loans, and financial assistance. (On Tuesday, US District Judge Loren L. AliKhan paused the freeze temporarily.)

The pause is not a wholesale cancelation of congressionally directed spending, as the media is reporting. It is not only necessary to earnestly comply with the series of executive orders issued by Trump affecting agency functions, it is a practice utilized by Democrat administrations. Moreover, there is vital context that has been almost completely ignored by the mainstream media: the equally unprecedented radicalism of the Biden administration.

When placed in context the pause makes much more sense.

On Inauguration Day, Trump issued a sweeping series of executive orders affecting regulations, prosecutions, the federal workforce, border security, and more.

Additional guidance on the spending pause linked the pause to Trump’s executive orders on foreign aid, the immigration crisis, energy, and identity politics. Meanwhile, functions such as military procurement, Social Security payments, and federal/state partnership programs would be unaffected.

If federal agencies and programs had been properly operating based on underlying statutes, there would be much less need for a dramatic spending pause. Sadly, that has not been the status quo for the last several years.

The Biden administration twisted as much of the federal government as possible into serving the agenda of the activist Left. This meant that all agencies created race-obsessed “equity action plans,” infrastructure programs had to prioritize “environmental justice” and “climate change,” and foreign aid was used to push divisive abortion and gender ideology overseas.

Deliberate administrative decisions implemented by Biden and his handlers resulted in untold billions of dollars being used for the promotion of leftist ideology and organizations. Examples include:

• The Senate Commerce Committee issued a blockbuster report revealing how the National Science Foundation issued thousands of grants at a cost of over $2 billion towards promoting neo-Marxist concepts in a variety of scientific fields during Biden’s tenure.
• The Biden administration made sure the “Green New Deal” helped politically friendly non-governmental organizations. Groups such as the Climate United fund ($7 billion), Coalition for Green Capital ($5 billion), the Opportunity Finance Network ($2.29 billion), Power Forward Communities ($2 billion), and the Justice Climate Fund ($940 million) now control de facto slush funds that are clearly designed to benefit groups associated with the Democratic party.
• Under Biden, the Department of Health and Human Services issued numerous grants in support of the transgender movement, which included giving tax dollars to groups encouraging youth to undergo gender transitions.
• The National Institutes of Health funded a $125 million “public health racial justice competency model” designed to inject aspects of critical race theory into the healthcare system.

While Trump’s executive orders will make some headway in dragging federal agencies towards the center, there is still an unknown number of additional orders, guidance documents, trainings, and regulations that will be needed to undo the wreckage left in Biden’s wake.

Given that there are hundreds of federal bureaus and thousands of programs, this cannot happen overnight. Thus, the only way to stop the Biden-style waste and abuse of tax dollars is to freeze the funds in place.

However, even if the Trump administration’s initiative is successful, Congress must do its part to permanently eliminate federal support of leftist institutions and ideology. Fully defunding the left would mean:

• Reining in the massive subsidization of higher education, which not only causes inflated tuition prices but also enables academia to embark on ideological crusades.
• Ending back-door handouts to universities in the form of excessive “indirect cost” payments from science agencies.
• Stopping the crusade undertaken by the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency to micromanage the country’s energy supply. In particular, fully eliminating the misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” is an urgent priority.

Trump’s spending freeze kicks off the first of many fiscal fights in the next few years. With the gross national debt now $36.2 trillion and inflation still well above pre-pandemic levels, it’s vital for leaders in Washington to do the right thing and protect America’s hard-earned dollars. In a surprise move, a coalition of red state law enforcers wrote to the wholesaler, warning them that under the new Trump administration and the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Students for Fair Admission v. Harvard, these extreme identity politics would no longer be tolerated. “Although Costco’s motto is ‘do the right thing,'” the AGs point out, “it appears the company is doing the wrong thing—clinging to DEI policies that courts and businesses have rejected as illegal. Costco should treat every person equally and based on their merit, rather than based on divisive and discriminatory DEI practices. That reflects President Trump’s executive order encouraging the Private Sector to End Illegal DEI discrimination and Preferences.”

The conservative leaders were referring to one of the president’s earliest orders on January 21, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.” While the action most directly affected federal agencies, there was a lengthy section in the document intended for the private sector, where the administration “encourages” CEOs like Costco’s Ron Vachris to ditch DEI and instead embrace “individual initiative, excellence, and hard work.”

Not so subtly, the AGs note that other businesses have faced lawsuits or are under investigation for refusing to roll back woke internal policies. “For the good of its employees, investors, and customers,” the 19 conservatives concluded, “Costco should ‘do the right thing’ by following the law and repealing its DEI policies. Within 30 days, please either notify us that Costco has repealed its DEI policies or explain why Costco has refused to do so. We look forward to your response.” It was signed by the Republican attorneys general of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Days earlier, the Costco board had publicly doubled down, declaring that its commitment to “respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary.” They join the stubborn woke—a collection of companies that refuse to heed consumers’ warnings like Apple and Delta, United, American, and Southwest Airlines.

And they do so at their own peril, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird insisted. “It’s time to ditch DEI,” she argued. “While other companies right the ship and abandon their illegal, woke policies, Costco has doubled down. I’m putting Costco on notice to do the right thing and eliminate discriminatory DEI,” the Iowan urged in a statement. “No American should be denied an opportunity because they don’t fit the woke mold.” (Image: Pexels)

Interestingly enough, Costco hasn’t been a public target of conservative activist Robby Starbuck’s, who’s generated the most concessions from major US chains like Target, Walmart, and McDonald’s. In an interview with Yahoo! Finance, the corporate giant killer cut the wholesaler a tiny bit of slack.

“It’s a very nuanced thing here, actually,” Starbuck said, “because Costco is not quite in the same box [as other brands like Target]. So Costco doesn’t have extremely radical DEI, but they do have DEI policies that I believe are going to be a major legal liability.” Which is why, he clarified, “We did not approach Costco.”

Instead, the Free Enterprise Project, an arm of the National Center for Public Policy Research, offered an anti-DEI resolution that was voted down by 98% of the shareholders after the board frantically lobbied people to vote no. Starbuck isn’t surprised by that. “If you ever have a shareholder proposal, no matter whether you like it or you hate it,” leaders are going to urge their shareholders to vote against it because they don’t want to cede authority. “[If] these people are going to decide for you something that you believe should be an executive decision, you’re always going to say, ‘Please vote against this because this should be under our authority, our control.'”

Stefan Padfield, the executive director of the project that offered the resolution, isn’t deterred. “Fortunately, the truth about DEI is being exposed as never before, and it is only a matter of time until DEI’s inherent shareholder-value-destroying nature forces even managers like those at Costco to get back to neutral and focus on creating value by providing great products and services rather than engaging in neo-Marxist and neo-racist social engineering projects,” he insisted.

On that, he and Starbuck agree. “I think Costco’s executives are just sort of learning about exactly what their DEI programs do and kind of getting familiar with the legal landscape. I don’t think we’ve heard the last of the Costco story.” Since last week’s shareholder vote, Starbuck says he has reached out to their executives. “Personally, I have engaged,” he said, adding that he would keep the details of those conversations off the record for now. “I have made sure they have all the information,” he explained. “And I think it’s something that they’re going to have to look very deeply at themselves and see if they think that they want to test the waters.”

At the end of the day, Starbuck pointed out, it’s up to management to decide how they want to run their business. “If you see the evidence that this is not making you money or that this is wasting your money, you should get away from it. And that’s why it’s been an easy sell to so many CEOs, because they understand that this has done nothing but bring division. It has cost them money. It’s just been an absolute black hole since the very beginning. It was not what they thought it was going to be. They thought this was going to be about equality. Most of them didn’t even know what ‘equity’ was. And when you actually show them everything their companies are doing, most of them can’t believe it. Numerous statements of a liberal activist bent have been gone from Amazon since December, according to web page archives, including endorsements of “equity for Black people” and “LGBTQ+ rights,” the word “transgender,” endorsement of “legislation to combat misconduct and racial bias in policing, efforts to protect and expand voting rights, and initiatives that provide better health and educational outcomes for Black people” and support for pro-transgender laws.

Amazon’s website previously boasted that the company was an “early and strong” supporter of homosexual “marriage” and that Amazon advocates for “equal rights” for gender-confused individuals and is “working at the US federal and state level on legislation, including supporting passage of the Equality Act.”

“Amazon provides gender transition benefits based on the Standards of Care published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH),” which supports surgical and chemical transgender interventions for children, it added.

[Earlier]: [ToddStarnes.com] Marcus Lemonis, the chief executive officer of Camping World, has a message for the city council in Greenville, North Carolina: the flag ain’t coming down.

“The flag is not coming down. You can fine me all you want City of Greenville North Carolina,” Lemonis wrote on X.

City leaders ordered Lemonis to remove the super-sized version of Old Glory that has become a signature look for all of Camping World’s stores.

But the city says the flag is too big and violates their zoning laws. To be exact it’s 15 times larger than the size that’s allowed.

So far, Camping World has racked up more than $1100 in fines. And every day the Old Glory flies—the dollar amount goes up.

Lemonis says he’s a proud immigrant and he flies giant American flags to convey his deep love for his adopted country.

“I happen to be an immigrant,” he said. “I was given the blessing of being able to enter this country and become a citizen, and I’m grateful for it.”
