“The mission of this task force will be to immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the [Justice Department], which was absolutely terrible,” Trump said at a National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC, on Thursday morning.

The “Task Force to End the War on Christians” will be composed of members of Trump’s Cabinet and key government agencies. It will identify and eliminate anti-Christian policies, practices, and conduct, The Daily Signal has learned.

Newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi will lead the task force to promote religious freedom.

Trump said the task force is a response to four years of religious discrimination from the Biden-Harris administration. The Biden Department of Justice convicted 23 peaceful pro-lifers for praying at abortion clinics and encouraging women to choose life. About half of those pro-lifers, many of whom were elderly, served time in jail.

Trump pardoned those pro-lifers who were convicted under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act on his fourth day in office.

Though the DOJ was highly vigilant against pro-lifers, it charged hardly anyone over the hundreds of attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and churches.

Christians were discriminated against by the foster care system due to their beliefs on gender. The Biden Health and Human Services Department issued a federal rule announced in September 2023 directing states to ensure foster children who identify as LGBTQ+ are placed in “affirming” homes.

Religious groups immediately warned the foster care rule would discriminate against faith-based providers.

The FBI’s Richmond office wrote an internal memo in 2023, calling traditional Catholics “Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists” and outlining “new mitigation opportunities.”

Former FBI Director Christopher Wray said employees involved with the memo were “admonished,” but not removed.

Trump’s new task force will remedy gaps in laws and enforcement that have contributed to anti-Christian conduct. This includes addressing any failures to fully enforce the law against hostility, vandalism, and violence against Christians.

“In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society,” Trump said at the prayer breakfast, “and to move Heaven and Earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious Believers nationwide.”

Input will be gathered from various stake holders, including faith-based organizations and those targeted by anti-Christian conduct over the past four years.

The task force will propose ideas for additional presidential or legislative actions to rectify past wrongs and protect Americans’ religious liberties. It will submit an annual report on its findings and accomplishments.

Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly wrote in her order that Treasury officials “will not provide access to any payment record or payment system of records maintained within the [Treasury] Bureau of Fiscal Service.”

The Buenos Aires Times reports that Milei signed a decree that amends the country’s Gender Identity Law to “prohibit hormone treatments and body adaptation surgery for people under 18 years of age.”

Presidential Spokesman Manuel Adorni said at a press conference on Wednesday, “These interventions to which children are exposed are a serious risk to their physical and mental health, as they imply an interruption in their maturation process.”

“As things now stand, minors who so wish may undergo treatment and surgery to change their bodies in accordance with their self-perception,” Adorni stated.

Under the current Gender Identity Law that was passed in 2012, minors generally need the consent of their parents to begin so-called “sex change” procedures. However, if one of the parents objects to the measures, the case can be brought to a court, which may overrule the dissenting parent.

“In many cases, the effects of these treatments and surgeries are irreversible,” Adorni noted. “Countries pioneering gender change such as the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland and more recently the United States are backtracking, prohibiting minors from being submitted to these processes for being considered irreversible with devastating long-term consequences.”

Franklin was referring to Trump’s Tuesday announcement while meeting with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, a proclamation that sent shockwaves throughout the globe and ignited international discussion and debate.

“The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it, too,” the president said. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out—create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area. Do a real job. Do something different. Just can’t go back.”

If no action is taken, Trump warned nothing in the region will change and chaos will continue. As for Netanyahu, he affirmed during the meeting his goals of destroying Hamas, releasing hostages, and stopping Gaza from being a future threat.

Regardless of the debate and skepticism among some, Franklin believes Trump’s shock announcement could lead to a more fruitful future.

The 33-year-old Christian recording artist is slated to join jazz musician Trombone Shorty on Sunday for a rendition of “America the Beautiful” at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Daigle’s participation in the major sporting event is an about-face from her experience five years ago, when the “You Say” singer-songwriter was scrubbed from Dick Clark Productions’ annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebration because New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, a Democrat, wanted the artist to face retribution for performing at an outdoor worship event in 2020, violating a public health guidance.

The event was organized and led by California worship leader and activist Sean Feucht.

At the time, Cantrell said, “[Daigle] harmed our people, she risked the lives of our residents, and she strained our first responders in a way that is unconscionable—in the midst of a public health crisis. This is not who we are, and she cannot be allowed to represent New Orleans or the people she willfully endangered.”
