Hunger Response: Bags of Hope – hein & helene van wyk EM AFRICA DIRECTORS

It seems crazy that it is already June. We have now been in lockdown in South Africa for over two months and we are really missing having teams come and traveling to our communities. During the month of May, South Africa was in level 4 of lockdown with many restrictions still in place. On June 1, we moved to level 3 lockdown but still cannot travel or do what we love most.

We have been continuously praying for our communities and trying to find ways to support them in this time. We have a new initiative called Bags of Hope, that will feed 10 children per bag of food. In this time where many are going without jobs and food, we are thankful to play a part. We also are still donating clothes to some of our communities as well as different food parcels. We are glad we can play a small part right now and can’t wait to return full force when it is allowed.

As for us, without being able to receive teams, it’s been a difficult time for us but we are thankful for the people who are continuing to support. We are also thankful during this time for each person who has invested into EM Africa through teams, prayer, and donating. We can’t do what we do without each one of you. Thank you.
