“FOLLOW ME, AND LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR OWN DEAD.” – By Ron McGatlin
When God spoke the title for this word to me, I was a bit surprised. I wondered what is the significance of this seemingly different title taken from the words of Jesus.
The revelation implied from this statement has opened to me to become one of the deepest and significant revelations of the life and light of God for our lives today that God has given to me.
There is a wonderful life of magnificence light with God now available to mankind. God goes to great length in His written word to describe this endless life of righteousness, peace and joy in the everlasting glory of abiding in the love of God.
Coming into union with Spirit God translates His chosen ones into the eternal life reality of being one person with God in Christ by the Holy Spirit.
Few people will find the way to the gate to enter this life. Many are called but few are chosen. (Matthew 7:13-14, 22:14).
God is speaking to us today to leave our past life and follow Jesus into a much greater promised life, of which we have only dreamed in our past religious and secular lives of seeking the reality of God in life now.
LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR OWN DEAD
“Then another of His disciples said to Him, ‘Lord, let me first go and bury my father.’ 22 But Jesus said to him, ‘Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.’ Matthew 8:21-22.
In another place and occasion Jesus gave a similar reply. “Then He said to another, ‘Follow Me.’ But he said, ‘Lord, let me first go and bury my father.’ 60 Jesus said to him, ‘Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.’” Luke 9:59-60.
WHO ARE THE DEAD THAT ARE TO BURY THEIR OWN DEAD FATHERS?
WHO ARE THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE FOLLOWING JESUS AND WHAT IS THEIR DESTINY IN THIS LIFE?
God is life. Death is the absence of God.
Separation from God is death. Experiencing the reality of being one with God in love is life abundant beyond all we can ask or think.
Only the person with God has true life. Spirit reality of the greatest most beautiful life that God has prepared for man is only in those in whom God dwells and who are seated with Christ in heaven.
To truly follow Jesus is to EXPERIENCE His resurrection life beyond the cross of losing our natural fallen-world life.
Following Jesus is experiencing arising from the death of being separated from God into the Spirit life reality of walking in the Spirit as one with God in Christ by the Holy Spirit. It is the reality of experiencing life as true mature Sons of God becoming the Bride of God in total love with God in us and with us at all times.
THE MARRIAGE OF THE KING’S SON
Now at this time we are in the season of the kingdom of God coming forth into our world. This is the season of the MARRIAGE OF THE KINGS SON TO HIS BRIDE, the true church of the kingdom age that Jesus spoke clearly about in the Parable of the Wedding Feast in Matthew 22:1-14. The parabolic symbolic language of this parable today is revealing a much greater meaning than in the past.
Today, we have the fresh revelation of the kingdom of God on earth now in the hearts and lives of the people of God that are consumed by God’s love in Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit within us.
The marriage of the Lamb with His Bride is no longer a far off in the future occurrence. But we are now living in the manifestation of the reality of this parable.
In the parable, the king is God Almighty. The son is Christ Jesus. The feast is the reality of God becoming one with His chosen Bride. The guests are all the people of the world coming into the reality of God with us in intimate love relationship of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit of God within us now on earth. This is the coming of the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
God has provided all that is needed for the full redemption of mankind back to Himself in the fullness of kingdom of Heaven living on earth.
Yet, the people have refused His servants bringing them the message that all things ARE READY NOW. They mistreat, scorn and even kill the servants of God.
This is what we are seeing now every day happening in our world.
The message of the real kingdom of God now manifesting on earth causes the fallen darkness of the world to rise up to try to rid the earth of God’s people and the name of Jesus, the rightful King of this world.
We, in recent decades, have been a part of the people of the highways and byways both good and bad coming into the feast of outpourings of His Holy Spirit love and miraculous works of Christ in His people.
We have been and are now experiencing those who enter the feast without the proper garment of a sacrificed life in love with God, being bound and cast out of the feast into outer darkness. The sons of the kingdom or cast into outer darkness, and must repent, and be cleansed to return to the feast of the New Jerusalem ruling city of the kingdom of God to take their place as a part of the Bride of God in Christ Jesus.
NEW JERUSALEM THE BRIDE OF GOD IN CHRIST
In the powerful figurative language of God in Revelation 21 this glorious life is clearly seen, if you can hear and see with Spirit ears and eyes.
It is also plainly contrasted with the dead who are to bury the dead who choose to seek their own lives apart from God, the giver of life and love to those who will love Him.
9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10.
PRAY AND ASK GOD TO OPEN WIDE THE EYES AND EARS OF YOUR SPIRIT TO RECEIVE THE TRUE REVELATION OF THE BEAUTIFUL GLORIOUS PICTURE OF THE LIFE GOD HAS FOR US NOW IN REVELATION 21.
God is revealing to us in this day of our Spirit marriage as true Sons and Bride in intimate love with God. We are receiving and entering the New Jerusalem Ruling City of the Kingdom of God, the government of the prepared Bride and Sons of God on earth.
As sons we do the mighty works of God in establishing the kingdom of God on earth. We rule and reign with Christ by the supernatural love, power and wisdom of Father God.
As Bride we love, adore and worship God with all of our heart. We reflect the glory of His perfect all-consuming passionate love back to God and to all the world around us. We are one with God in intimate pure holy love with God and reproduce His children into mature kingdom sons and daughters.
THE TRUE KINGDOM MESSAGE IN REVELATION 21
The figurative symbolic language of the Spirit hides the message from those who are not ready to receive it. In recent decades the revelation of the kingdom of God coming to earth now by Christ Jesus with Father God in the Holy Spirit in His people is removing the cover and revealing the meaning of the figurative symbolic language of the written word of God.
