The Romeike family was forced to flee Germany in 2008 after they were persecuted by the government for homeschooling their children. The Germans levied fines against the family and threatened to take away their children. I documented the plight of the family for years when I was working at Fox News. Uwe and Hannelore Romeike and their five children eventually settled in eastern Tennessee and were granted indefinite deferred action status. The evangelical Christians were allowed to live, work, and remain safely in the United States without fear of deportation. In the 10 years they’ve been in the United States, they had two children (who are American citizens) and two of their grown children have married Americans. They also have an American grandchild. But a few weeks ago during a routine check-in with the American government, the family was ordered to pack their bags and head back to Germany. They were being kicked out of the country. The Homeschool Legal Defense Association says the Romeikes were given four weeks to apply for German passports so they could be deported. “The family had no prior warning, and was offered no explanation, other than that there had been a ‘change of orders,'” the HSLDA said. “Deportation to Germany will fracture these families, while exposing the Romeikes to renewed persecution in Germany, where homeschooling is still illegal in almost every case.” So the Biden Administration is allowing thousands of rapists, drug cartels, murderers and men of military age to breach our borders, but they’re going to kick an evangelical Christian German family out of the country? The Biden administration has been trying to hide the true scope of the illegal alien invasion of our country through the CBP (Customs and Border Protection) One program. As I previously explained, hundreds of thousands of migrants every year can apply for a pseudo-legitimization through the CBP One app, meaning that the Biden administration was claiming a reduction in illegal crossings by the simple expedient of labeling many thousands of barely-vetted illegals legitimate. But that’s not the only disturbing aspect of the CBP One program. Apparently, illegals are taking airline trips from other countries straight into the US. It is key to note that these illegal aliens are “inadmissible.” That ought to mean they aren’t allowed into the country. According to Fox News Project Baltimore, “1,736 students took the test, and 1,295 students, or 74.5%, scored a one out of four,” which is the lowest level one could score. The test scores were not given to Project Baltimore by Baltimore City Schools, who also refuse to participate in any interviews regarding the matter. Jason Rodriguez, deputy director of the Baltimore-based non-profit People Empowered by the Struggle, classified this issue as “educational homicide,” saying there are “no excuses” for these results. “We’re still dealing with these same issues year after year,” he said, in light of a similar report conducted in 2017 which had some of the same schools on it. “[I]t’s just opening up the floodgates to the school-to-prison pipeline.” Baltimore City Schools asserted the results can be explained by COVID and “minimal funding.” They sent a statement to Project Baltimore claiming that, despite recent financial “increases,” there are still “years of chronic underfunding that has directly contributed to [the] current incomes.” The statement continued, “That recovery takes an equal or more significant amount of time to remediate.” Despite their statement, Rodriguez quickly shot down their reasoning. “[I]t’s not a funding issue,” he said. Last school year, Baltimore City Schools received $1.6 billion from taxpayers, with the district receiving an additional $799 million in COVID relief funding. Rodriguez continued, “I think accountability is the issue.” At Family Research Council’s 2023 Pray Vote Stand Summit, Ben Carson, former US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, gave a speech where he alluded to the issues plaguing public schools. For Carson, a lot of it comes down to the woke agenda of “dumbing down the population” by prioritizing the wrong things in schools. Carson encouraged his listeners to take a stand of courage and use their constitutional rights to “hold people’s feet to the fire.” Joseph Backholm, senior fellow for Biblical Worldview and Strategic Engagement at Family Research Council, shared his take on the situation to The Washington Stand. “Part of this is almost certainly related to the fact that millions of students just spent two years or more not in school. That created a massive learning loss that, in reality, will never be made up.” “But that’s not all that’s happening,” he continued, noting how before COVID, many schools failed students. However, “the laws have been written in a way that hold students’ hostage in failing schools just to make sure money continues to flow to those schools,” he said. “The system has long prioritized the needs of adults over the needs of children.” But with the rise of parents choosing homeschooling and other options they find is best for their children, Backholm pointed out that “we can expect to see outcomes start to improve for children.” “It’s going to take time, though,” he concluded. Poilievre in his pro-parent message included an image of Trudeau’s X posting on Wednesday in which he condemned the pro-parent side of the march, saying the rejection of the LGBT dogma has “no place” in Canada. Yesterday, LifeSiteNews reported on how CPC MPs at the federal level were directed to remain silent about the Million Person March, according to an internal memo. The party faced a lot of online backlash because of this, and today’s posting from Poilievre appears to be a message to show that he heard his grassroots party members loud and clear. On Wednesday, thousands of concerned Canadian parents, kids, and others from coast to coast marched in the Million Person March against LGBT indoctrination in the nation’s schools. The protest was organized by Muslim Canadians and used the slogan “Leave our kids alone,” specifically regarding gender ideology, age-inappropriate sexual content in school libraries, and LGBT propaganda. We have a ministry side that helps equip pastors and leaders to better address the needs of those who are following Christ away from LGBT culture… Because increasingly, avenues away from LGBT culture are closing. I mean, I could go so far as to say it’s becoming illegal to get help, to get support, even to hear the Gospel if you identify as LGBT…”
“I didn’t have the tools to realize that my dad was abusive, my mom’s a victim,” Duncan says, “so, my takeaway from that was that women were weak, women were vulnerable, and women were hated.” Duncan realized she would grow up to be a woman and did not want to be “weak,” so she says she “made a vow at a very early age, ‘I’m going to be the man my dad is not.'” “I was running from pain,” Duncan says. When she was 19, Duncan began to live as a man and did so for the next 11 years. When Duncan came to know Jesus as her Savior, she got involved in a local church while she was still living as a man. Over the course of several years, Duncan journeyed with her church community and eventually made the decision to detransition. For Duncan, it was a five year journey to go through the “detransitioning process, and that was undoing the thinking that being a woman is bad, that I’m not safe, that I’ll be hated, that I’m vulnerable,” she says. Duncan, director of gender advocacy for the CHANGED Movement, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to share her story and discuss what children struggling with gender dysphoria need most. Elizabeth Woning, co-founder of CHANGED Movement, also joins the show to explain the fight to preserve counseling and therapy that affirms and celebrates an individual’s biological sex amid a struggle with their gender identity. My dad was emotionally and verbally abusive to my mom, and my mom was the victim. Now, at that age, I didn’t have the tools to realize that my dad was abusive, my mom’s a victim. So my takeaway from that was that women were weak, women were vulnerable, and women were hated. And realizing I’m a girl, I’m going to grow up to be a woman, I don’t want to do that. But yet I don’t want to be that man my dad is, so I made a vow at a very early age I’m going to be the man my dad is not… When I was 19, I became desperate. Throughout my whole childhood, that was my secret. I didn’t tell anybody. And then at the age of 19, I was desperate. So I moved out of the house, changed my name, started hormones, and started living as a man… I lived as a man for 11 years. Virginia Allen: When did you start thinking, “OK, this isn’t ‘fixing it'”? Or when did you kind of begin to feel just like, “Wait a second, I’m not sure that this was what I wanted or that this is the answer”? Kathy Grace Duncan: …it was probably about four years before I came out of the lifestyle I started opening my heart and my life everywhere to the Lord. He had called to me and said, “Will you now?” And I said, “Yes,” because there wasn’t any reason why I couldn’t. And so I started following Him and looking for Him, and I was going to be everywhere where He was. And at the end of that four-year period, I [was] still serving in the church as a man. Allen: And your community [saw] you completely as a man? Duncan: Correct. And at the end of that, I was confronted by the Church. They said, “Hey, we’re hearing some rumors about you. We just want to know who are you? Who are you really?” And it was at that point I confessed, “I’m a woman living as a man.” Which I didn’t believe that before, so it was the four years of the Lord working in my heart where I came to that place. When I confessed that, I encountered the Lord. He blew into me and I realized then I have to go back to being the woman He created me to be. Allen: That’s a huge “yes” after 11 years. The Lord takes you on this four-year journey. What was that process then of detransitioning and saying again, “I’m a woman and I’m going to live and present as a woman”? Duncan: Sure. So, there was five years that I went through the detransitioning process, and that was undoing the thinking that being a woman is bad, that I’m not safe, that I’ll be hated, that I’m vulnerable. So it’s undoing those things and embracing being a woman is good, and I was created on purpose for a purpose, and we have an intentional God. And so, again, just embracing those things, figuring out that I’m safe, I’m OK, and figuring out how do I embrace being a woman and how do I cast off being a man? It’s like taking off the old, putting on the new. I have to say, the first time I ever wore a dress, I was paralyzed. I felt like I was supposed to, but I went into the women’s bathroom and I couldn’t come back out. I’m like, “They’re going to think I’m weird.” I was [at] a fundraiser for this ministry I was a part of. And the executive director’s wife came in and she’s like, “So what are you doing here?” Because I’m just sitting there. She’s like, “What are you doing in here?” And I’m like, “I’m terrified. That question seems to keep repeating itself. It’s reminiscent of the final scene in the 2004 movie The Aviator when Howard Hughes (portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio) looks into a mirror and keeps saying, “The way of the future” over and over again. The Movie Blog explained in 2020, “The final scene makes it clear that Hughes has a long and difficult life ahead of him.” But what about humanity and the advancement of technology? Do we have a long and difficult battle ahead? One author says it appears to be an unavoidable part of our timeline. Appearing on this week’s episode of The Global Lane, the author of the book Dark Aeon exposes part of the globalist agenda for the future. “Transhumanism is the great merger of humankind with the Machine. At this stage in history, it consists of billions using smartphones. Going forward, we’ll be hardwiring our brains to artificial intelligence systems,” author Joe Allen writes. With an academic background in both science and theology, Allen confronts the paradox of what he calls “good people constructing a digital abomination.” Allen explains “scientism” as the techno-elite’s belief that science and technology, not God, are the means to human salvation. “Scientism is the belief that scientific inquiry and discovery will answer all of the existential questions in human life,” Allen told CBN News’ Gary Lane. “All of those questions which religion seeks to satisfy, scientism holds up material discovery as the means of salvation. The character Sophia is meant to symbolize the Sophia of Gnosticism,” he explained. “And if you look at the statements from David Hanson. “People from all across our nation are coming to participate with us for this humble outcry of repentance for healing in our land. We are praying that this will not only be a pivotal moment in Tennessee but that many will be inspired to gather in their own cities across America to repent,” Barbi Franklin told CBN News. Barbi and her husband, Terry, are founders of Worship City and are hosting “Worship City Repent Tents” on September 28-30 at the Tennessee state capitol’s Legislative Plaza for non-stop worship, prayer, and repentance. “This year, our leaders are building and erecting a 10-foot cross right in the center of the main tent on a large prayer rug, perched right in front of the capitol building,” Barbi told CBN News. “This will be Tennessee’s non-stop altar call, based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Ezekiel 22:30… by first calling all Christians to examine their hearts and ‘…turn from our wicked ways.’ And then, to answer God’s call to ‘…stand in the gap’ and repent on behalf of our land.” The Dove Award-winning singer/songwriters normally host a yearly “tent” gathering that focuses on worship and prayer, but this year as they sought the Lord, He moved them to take this year’s event in a different direction. “God is pinpointing in our hearts the most important thing that needs to happen in our nation right now and in our Church,” Franklin said. She describes that as simply repentance. “Judgment begins in the House of the Lord and there are an awful lot of things that are not godly inside the Church,” she said. Barbi tells CBN News that at the foot of the 10-foot cross will be a box where people will be able to write personal confessions and then also repent for the sins of the nation. She added, “People [must] realize the key is humbling ourselves. We preach, ‘Revival is coming, revival is coming.’ But I can tell you revival is not coming until the Church turns from their wicked ways and gets freed up so that we can be the powerful Bride of Christ.”
“Repentance is so important right now because the Church is being bombarded, unbeknownst to them, they are caught up in every strategy of the enemy,” she explained. She says those strategies are fear, doctrinal error, and falling into temptation. “I believe that we are in such a dangerous place as a nation. We’ve really lost our moorings as a Church and we’ve been so affected by our nation. We have not really stood on all of those principles for so many years. We’ve gone the entertainment route. We’ve done so many things that the world does to try to reach the people,” she expressed. “There is a new wave of…young people who are looking for Jesus. They don’t want the old Church ways. They don’t want entertainment. They want the real.” Franklin says next week’s event is the start of what could be a movement to see many things turn around in America. “There’s a resurgence of desperation for God,” she shared. “The ultimate is not to fix our nation.
