Over the years I have been getting instructions from the Lord about the differences between natural laws and supernatural ones.

Jesus constantly operated under and displayed the supernatural laws while operating in the natural realms of this earth.

“And having seen that they were troubled and tormented in [their] rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night [between 3:00–6:00 a.m.] He came to them, walking [directly] on the sea. And He acted as if He meant to pass by them, but when they saw Him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and raised a [deep, throaty] shriek of terror.

“For they all saw Him and were agitated (troubled and filled with fear and dread). But immediately He talked with them and said, Take heart! I AM! Stop being alarmed and afraid.

“And He went up into the boat with them, and the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its own beating). And they were astonished exceedingly [beyond measure], for they FAILED TO CONSIDER OR UNDERSTAND [THE TEACHING AND MEANING OF THE MIRACLE OF] THE LOAVES; [in fact] their hearts had grown callous [had become dull and had lost the power of understanding].” (Mark 6:48–52 AMPC, emphasis mine)

Everything in all of creation is held together by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3).

They Failed to Understand the Teaching of the Loaves

What is truly amazing about this passage of Scripture is not that Jesus walked upon the water or that the storm ceased in the process; it is that they failed to understand the teaching of the loaves (Mark 6:52).

You may ask why this is so important, but it’s because He was attempting to teach them the difference between operating underneath a natural law while invoking a supernatural one.

Invoking the Supernatural Laws of the Kingdom

When He took the loaves and looked up to Heaven, He was invoking His supernatural Father and His supernatural citizenship upon the natural realm. In this particular case, it was for supernatural multiplication with the fish and the loaves, because as they were spread about through the crowd, they began to multiply and feed a multitude.

Too many times we are content to live underneath the natural laws around us while not invoking the supernatural laws of the Kingdom that we are from! Supernatural healing, signs, wonders, and miracles SHOULD BE A REGULAR OCCURRENCE IN EVERY BELIEVER’S LIFE, not because we’re better than anyone else, but rather because of our citizenship and inheritance given to us by Jesus Christ.

“For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE [WHICH IS] IN CHRIST JESUS [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” (Romans 8:2, emphasis mine)

We need to realize that there are supernatural laws which we have been given access to by Jesus Christ. Maybe we’ve never taken advantage of them, either because we didn’t know they were there, or we just didn’t believe that they are really for us in the first place.

As He builds His Kingdom in your life, more of these dynamics will continue to surface, and if you love Him and His Word, they are going to supercharge your natural into a supernatural normalcy!
