When the COVID-19 shut-down began, back in March of 2020, the Lord spoke to me and said He would take the Church and the nations from crisis to comeback, but first we would need to contend for His divine plan and purposes. In this tipping point moment, it is vital for the Church to get God’s perspective and actively participate with Heaven to see the curse turned to a blessing for us, and to see massive awakening in the earth.
The Crisis
The Chinese word for crisis is formed by the converging of two characters: danger and opportunity. Actually, I was told by a Chinese man that the more accurate translation of the characters means danger at a critical juncture. We are at such a moment in the earth. We are definitely living in a kairos moment, which means an opportune or appointed time.
In March, we realized the enemy had a huge agenda for this season which involved death and destruction, not just of personal lives, but also against God’s people; against the shift happening in nations that would expose evil and the coming awakening so often prophesied. Part of the plan involved first shutting down churches to break apart the corporate prayer anointing and alignment with Heaven. Though many leaders jumped in to learn livestream and Zoom, it is reported that about one third to one half of the Church isn’t actually tuning in, and even those who are do so passively, not engaging in the spiritual dynamics of contending for breakthrough.
The virus and the social unrest in the US and other nations uncovers the enemy’s agenda to silence and destroy the Church, and thereby nations – especially the United States of America. The crisis is not what you see on the news every night. It’s not a political crisis, a governmental crisis nor an economic crisis, but rather a spiritual crisis.
The enemy wants to bring disconnection in the Church because the Church is called to hold back evil. For that reason, my husband, Tom, Bishop Hamon and I have been conducting nightly communion on Facebook Live at Vision Church to keep an emphasis on church, connection, covenant and contending through these strategic times. God loves to turn times of crisis into an advancing season for His Kingdom purposes! (Photo via Unsplash)
Contending
In case you haven’t noticed, people are contending over everything right now. Do we wear masks or does your compliance align you with the antichrist? Do we say Black Lives Matter or All Black Lives Matter? Do we defund the police or defend the police? Why can protesting and rioting not spread the virus but going to church does? The “Cancel Culture” movement and censorship is silencing voices in America as never before. Politics are at fever pitch. It’s crazy!
Before we can look at what the Church should be contending for, we must recognize what we are contending against, and it is none of the above. Ephesians 6:12 in the Passion Translation tells us, “Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.”
I believe our current battle is with the spirit of lawlessness and chaos operating in the spirit realm. Isaiah 51:9-11 speaks of Rahab, the Egyptian god of chaos and destruction (The Message Translation calls him the chaos-dragon). This is a picture of our enemy, the devil, up to his tricks to kill, steal and destroy; only this time it’s not just individuals but nations hanging in the balance.
The God of Peace Is Rising Over Chaos!
I heard the Lord clearly say these words during a time of prayer: “The God of Peace is rising over chaos!” Isaiah 9:6 declares Christ to be the Prince of Peace. This may evoke a tranquil, happy, calm picture in your mind; however, I believe a more accurate translation of this name, based on the Hebrew word for prince, would be “The Warring Prince of Peace.” He brings peace – shalom – through His strength. The word “shalom” means much more than peace and tranquility. It also means completion, wholeness, health, wealth, favor and prosperity.
Tom and I were speaking with Mike Massa from Christ for the Nations, and he explained that a Hebrew scholar said the deeper meaning of shalom is “peace comes when you destroy the authority of chaos!” Wow! Chaos wants to hit us at a personal level financially, in our families, in our health and circumstances. It also wants to hit at a regional or national level to overthrow cities and nations. Our battle is not with flesh and blood but with the demonic spirits of chaos that are pushing an antichrist agenda, knowing a massive revival is on God’s schedule.
Romans 16:20 encourages us that “…the God of peace will swiftly pound satan to a pulp under your feet! And the wonderful favor of our Lord Jesus will surround you.” Yes, the God of Peace is rising in this hour, so do not be afraid but engage and contend in prayer, in praise, by prophesying and making decrees. Partner with God in this great victory!
Comeback
Several years ago I heard the Lord say, “Your setback is only a setup for a mighty comeback!” I am pretty sure He was prophesying into our current season. The word “comeback” can be defined as a regaining of success, fame, health, prosperity; recovery, revival, resurgence; to return to a former good position or condition after a loss; the act of making up for a deficit.
God loves to take the plans of the enemy and then turn them back on his own head. Think of Haman and his sons being hung on the gallows intended for God’s people. Think of Jehoshaphat taking three days to gather the spoils after God caused their enemies to turn on and destroy each other. Think of Joseph telling his brothers who sold him into slavery, “You meant this for evil but God meant it for good” (see Genesis 50:20). (Photo via Unsplash)
Deuteronomy 23:5 declares, “Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.” In Esther 9:24-26 in the Message Translation it tells us how the plans of the enemy boomeranged back on his own head! No doubt, chaos, rioting and evil will continue to break out throughout this year, but God will cause them to break the way open for divine reversals in cities and nations.
The Lord declares, “Every place you see chaos, lawlessness and disruption will be a target for the outpouring of My Spirit. What the enemy meant for evil will be turned for good! The places where the voices of My people have been silenced will be at the forefront of revival! I will supernaturally turn hearts. The persecutors will become the propagators of My revival message. The economy will recover. Churches will grow and expand. Prodigals will return. Miracles will break out in abundance. A harvest of souls is at hand!”
We must align with all that Heaven is declaring. The Lord has declared a time of overcoming and victory – a super bloom season of crazy increase and prosperity and a time of a massive harvest of souls which is already breaking out. Shake yourself from fear or any sense of doom and gloom. Get in the battle to contend and get ready to see a mighty comeback for yourself, the Church and your nation!
