“He Is Coming and His Reward Is with Him!”
Kim Potter, Dayton, TN
Recently, as I walked into my back door, I suddenly heard the Lord speak to me. He simply said, “I am coming.”
My heart leapt at these words! I knew He wasn’t talking about coming back for His Church. I knew, instantly, it was something different. So, I continued to listen for His voice. I was not disappointed. Suddenly, a Scripture came up into my spirit:
“Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.” (Isaiah 40:10)
I felt a wave of excitement as I understood what He was saying. It could feel my spirit bearing witness to what I was hearing—to the proclamation of the Lord!
He Is Coming, and His Reward Is with Him!
The next couple hours, I could think of nothing else. I continued to ponder on what I had heard. Intrigued, I decided to take some time and study the Scripture in Isaiah 40. Here is what I found:
In this verse, according to Strong’s Concordance…
• The word “come” means “to light upon and to bring to pass.”
• The word “strong” means “mighty, stout.”
• The word “arm” means “forces, help, power, strength, position.” It also means sacrifice, or “shoulder of animal sacrificed, belonging to priest.” In the Hebrew, it is the word “zeroa,” which comes from the word “zara” meaning “to sow or scatter seed; be made pregnant.” It is the same word used when God talks about sowing in the Bible. • The word “rule” means “to have and exercise dominion, to reign.”
• The word “reward” means “payment.”
• The word “work” means “recompense, reward, and wages.”
After diligently studying each word, I had a clearer picture of what God was saying to me. He was declaring:
“Behold! I am coming, I am about to light upon you and bring to pass what I have said! Behold! My strength will be displayed and will cause you to prevail! Behold! My strength lies in the sacrifice made for you by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. That seed sown, along with all the other seeds you have sown, is about to produce something wonderful in your life. I am coming to bring it to pass!
“Behold! My dominion and your dominion are about to be displayed! Every enemy will know that I reign over every situation in your life! Your payday is here; you are about to receive recompense, reward and wages, because I am coming and My reward—your reward—is with Me.” (Photo via Piqsels)
In the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition it says, “Behold, the Lord God will come with might, and His arm shall rule for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.”
The New Living Translation says it like this: “Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, He brings His reward with Him as He comes.”
This one thing that I know…God declared to me, “I AM COMING.” He is coming, and His reward is with Him. Are you ready? Are you watching? Every seed you have sown is about to produce a harvest, because HE IS COMING to enforce His word concerning your giving.
Perhaps your reward is healing…He is coming to fulfill that word to you. Maybe your reward is salvation for your family…He is coming to bring it to pass.
What an awesome time we are living in. A time when our God is coming to fulfill His word and manifest His reward…our reward! To God be all the glory!
