After I woke up this morning and said my prayers and (again) asking for God’s protection and covering/keeping of this, His beloved nation, the song The Battle Hymn of the Republic came to my mind… I first started humming it, then I started singing the lyrics I could remember, and I got really excited – like a little kid all over again! I pulled it up on YouTube, listened to it and started sobbing. Don’t get me wrong! Sobbing in a good way. Thanking God for His righteousness and mercy–bringing us back to our “sound minds!” [2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but one of power, of love, and of a sound mind.]
Then, I started thinking of other songs we used to sing all the time growing up like America the Beautiful, God Bless America, The Star Spangled Banner, etc, As I was thinking about these songs, this came to my mind…
“These are the songs we used to sing,
Just as common as anything.
Why has our beloved country become so fraught
with beliefs and ways it should have not?”
God’s people who are called by His name,
can work with Him to declare why He came;
to give peace and love to set people free,
the reason for Jesus in History.”
In Him – ALWAYS!

I encourage you to listen to it. I also encourage you to get your hankies out…
Blessings in Him,

The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage
where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He hath loosed his fateful lightning
of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching onI have seen Him in the watch fires
of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar
in the evening dews and damps,
I can read his righteous sentence
in the dim and daring lamps,
His day is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching onI have read a fiery Gospel
writ in burnished rows of steel,
“As ye deal with My contemnors
so with you My grace shall deal,”
Let the Hero born of woman
crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching onHe has sounded forth the trumpet
that shall never call retreat,
He is sitting out the hearts of men
before His judgment seat,
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him!
Be jubilant, my feet,
Our God is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching onThe following stanzas are presented
as sung by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir in 1960In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom
that transfigures you and me,
As He died to make men holy
let us live to make men free,
His truth is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching onHe is coming like the glory
of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty
He is honor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool
and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching onGlory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
