“Your Season of Crossing Over is at Hand!”
Ana Werner, Kansas City, MissouriA Season of Bursting Forth and Crossing over
Can’t you just feel it? There is an anticipation of something great breaking forth is in the air. I am reminded of this, as I look out and see all the lovely floatings of the cottonwood tree that affect me greatly in this allergy season.
At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit burst out, causing tongues of fire to fall on the mass of people there. We now are in a similar place of anticipation of revival. The next wave of the move of the Spirit and the greatest harvest of souls is at hand.
Our Promises are at Hand
Recently, I was in a vision where I heard the Lord speak clearly. Before me I saw a vision of the place where Moses and the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, escaping their enslavement to the Egyptians. Then subsequently, I was taken into a another vision, a vision of the waters of the Jordan and the crossing place of Joshua and the Israelites with the ark of the covenant.
I then heard the words, “A season of crossing over.”
Many of us have been contending for a dream of God for so long, it seems almost ridiculous to now claim: “This is my season. This is my time where I cross over into that Promised Land that the Lord has shown me.”
3 Encouragements to the Weary Soul
1. Use your testimonies of past victories
Psalm 78:11 says, “They forgot His works and the wonders that He had shown them.” After years in the desert, the Israelites forgot what amazing things God had done for them. Did it become so much the norm, that they just grew numb to His miraculous power?
I believe there is a key here for us in this season. In this season, while the enemy might be roaring and trying to take you down with discouragement, and you find yourself on the brink of something great and life-changing, look towards the past, Beloved. Look toward the past and look at what God HAS DONE already. Use your testimony of the past victories with the Lord to steady and encourage you as you move towards claiming unfulfilled promises. Pray to Him: “God you have done great things in my life, and you are going to do it again! Thank you Jesus that you have a great promise over my life!”
I declare now:
“The land into which I am entering to possess is not like the land from which I came. The land into which I am about to cross to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of Heaven—a land for which the Lord my God cares; the eyes of the Lord my God are always on it.” (see Deuteronomy 11:10-12).
2. Prepare for the Promise
In Scripture we see Joshua encourage the Israelites just before they were to cross the Jordan into their Promised Land. He told them, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you” (Joshua 3:5).
Consecrate yourself, as the promise is at hand. Consecration is the prophetic act of setting yourself apart to receive something miraculous the Lord is getting ready to do. Are you ready? Spiritually, have you done your part for the breakthrough? Fast, pray, tithe, worship, meditate on Scripture, etc. Then prepare. If your promise came TODAY, how would that change your life? If you have been contending and praying for a baby, go prepare that baby’s room ’cause it is coming! Ask yourself now, “Am I prepared if my life were to change in this way today?” Consecrate, and prepare. Do your part and prepare for the promise as if it is coming tomorrow. This activates your faith to partner with Heaven.
3. Trust that God is moving
Rest assured and trust that God is moving things in the spirit whether you can see His movement or not. Ahead of time, God has prepared a way, just as He prepared a place for Joshua’s people to spy out the Promised Land through Rahab—a person who most would call “unfit” to host and birth a move of God. He is preparing your promise, Beloved. You may not see it, but His hand is there and it’s moving. The Lord is setting things up for a great move. Your crossing OVER into the promise is AT HAND!
