I got up one Saturday morning to get ready for a conference which was being held by several local ministers. I heard three words whispered to my spirit, “Choices, Changes, and Charges”. As I prayerfully pondered the words I realized I was being reminded of the importance of our choices, that proper choices bring the changes God is waiting for us to make that will result in our becoming positioned to obey the calling or charge He has for our lives. This happens only as we travail in prayer, as Joe Joe says.

Was pondering recently why I was led to go to grad school years ago because it didn’t seem to be very helpful and wondered if the investment was worth it. I believe the main benefit was the perseverance [endurance] that was developed in the process. There were so many unforeseen obstacles and setbacks and I had given up for awhile but eventually was able to complete everything. It has taken me a long time to appreciate the character building that was accomplished but now I see it was worth it.

August 9, 2018 at 8:15 pm #11034jachmoodyParticipantRecently was meditating on a devotional based on Song of Songs [Passion Translation] and this verse [Song of Songs 5:2] was featured. I connected it to Acts 14:22 [trials lead us into kingdom]…and prior to this had been pondering Rev. 21:21, which speaks of the 12 gates made of pearl. The significance of the pearl is they are formed in response to irritants that get into the oyster. In other words troubles, trials are doorways to the kingdom of heaven if we respond by turning our attention to Scripture, look to Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith.

April 25, 2018 at 2:45 pm #9574jachmoodyParticipantReminds me of a poem that came to me as I prayed for a family member:
“Make room in the womb of your heart
For a new, supernatural start
Then let it develop you
It may even envelop you
And out will go the lies
That used to be tearing you apart

April 10, 2018 at 6:24 pm #9335jachmoodyParticipantThanks for posting. Remember reading an excerpt of this in the Alliance Witness magazine of the Christian Missionary Alliance when I was in high school in ’63, cut it out and kept it in my bible for yrs. Great wisdom in these words.
