DO WE ALWAYS REALLY KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG? – Ron McGatlin
God is revealing deeper realities of His wisdom and His design of all things heavenly and earthly in this season of increased intimate love communion with His people on Earth.
The direct short answer to the title question is simply NO; we do not always know what is truly right or wrong.
But let’s look further into that answer.
GOD IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF PERFECT, ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS OR RIGHTNESS.
Therefore, only perfect alignment with God is right at all times and in all occasions of life on Earth or in Heaven.
All things that are NOT aligned with the will of God are wrong at some level. There is no middle ground between right and wrong, just degrees or levels of disorder.
These are deep and all-inclusive true statements of reality. However, let’s begin now to take a closer look at the more practical reality of attempting to know and do rightly.
In our neophyte Christian religions, we have sought desperately to KNOW and DO the will of God from Bible study, prayer, and other disciplines seeking to know and become more righteous in our daily lives. This has proven to be very hard, and we never seem to completely overcome the will of our natural animalistic desires or needs.
For the most part, the various religions make room for this and accept a life of doing the best we can now and depending on the sacrificial blood of Christ at the cross to get us into heaven to be righteous in heaven after we die and leave this life on Earth. Generally, there is little or no hope of knowing how to become always right or righteous in this lifetime.
THE TRUTH IS THAT WE WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND RIGHT AND WRONG OR GOOD AND EVIL!
We were meant to be in direct love communion with God.
The only original direct DON’T from God to Adam was to not partake of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. God told Adam, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17.
Adam and all mankind spiritually died at that moment. They no longer had intimate love communion Spirit to Spirit with Father God as one with God.
Man was cut off from the Tree of Life and was bound to try to KNOW right and wrong only with his own natural understanding or knowledge of right and wrong or good and evil. “Then the Lord God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever’ 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”
Mankind could no longer know the will of God in all matters of life directly from Spirit God. He literally has to try to discern right and wrong from his own mind and his natural conscience. This is figuratively partaking of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Hearing God in direct in-love communion is partaking of the Tree of Life.
The redemption for us to fully return to the one-on-one communion with God is in Christ Jesus.
However, our redemption is incomplete if we do not have the fullness of the Holy Spirit, God Himself, through Christ, fully abiding in us.
BIBLE DISCERNMENT
The Bible, the written word of God, is not fully received or properly discerned by the minds of incomplete or partially redeemed children of God. Without the fullness of Spirit Christ by Holy Spirit abiding in us, establishing an intimate in-love communion with Father God, we will not hear God instantly and clearly.
The in-process, redeemed children of God simply do not have the capacity to come to the greater revelation of the many aspects of the mind and will of Father God from the written word without the fullness of the direct IN-LOVE oneness with God through the indwelling Christ by the Holy Spirit.
Yes, God fully loves us all, but only those who are in love with Him will daily walk in the Spirit of God and hear or receive from God’s instant guidance directly into their hearts and minds as needed.
Plainly said, the natural human mind simply cannot consider all the factors involved in discerning the written word that God has said to mankind through the millennia of time. Only by the Spirit can the true message or word that God has for you now be clearly seen or heard from the written word.
The written word becomes alive to us as Spirit God reveals clearly what God is speaking to us all that we need to have when we are ready to receive it. That which He has for us will reverberate in our spirit as truth, and the light of understanding and wisdom will turn on within us.
In other words, the Word lives within us and can instantly tell us what to do or not do if we have “ears to hear.”
For example, if a sudden emergency manifests that could have life-or-death consequences, Spirit God within you can tell you what action to take. It may be to speak calmly and say certain things or move quickly or cry out or lash out or run or whatever would correct the situation.
However, if you were only working in your mind with a learned principle from the word of God that is true and good, it could be the wrong thing in this particular case at hand. The right thing would be whatever God says to you at that moment. It would probably not be what your unrenewed mind would say or do.
It may or may not be to turn the other cheek in a moment of war when a demonically inspired army is attacking.
We all know that this is not God’s desired order and that God said thou shalt not kill. However, He led many great men of God to destroy whole cities and wipe out even the women and children.
The same God that said “love thy neighbor” and “thou shalt not kill,” also destroyed Sodom and Gamora and brought down the walls of Jerico. These are not actions of inconsistency or instability of God. They are acts of the love of God toward mankind and the world, and especially His true sons and daughters. God knows everything and how to deliver and protect His people and His creation.
I know these are extremes and are not suggesting in any form or fashion that we have any authority to decide to make up our own minds about right and wrong. There is no room for us to try to figure out with our own minds what is right or wrong for us or the world. We must be in love with God to be and do as He says, leads, and empowers.
Those who are saying within, no matter what, I couldn’t or wouldn’t ever do a harsh physical act, then you are probably exactly right and will never be the one called upon to stand to physically stop an evil attack. But those who are prepared by God will be chosen for that job. Your job and empowerment may be to spiritually stop and destroy the enemy and strengthen and protect those in the physical service of intervening with the release of God’s physical actions.
There are many different jobs or parts, and God prepares each of us in His love for our part and not for another person’s part.
CHANGING TIMES AND PARTS
God can change our part according to the season and what He is doing. If He changes our job, He will prepare us and will give us what we need to do the new service He is calling us into.
God has been preparing some of us in ways we did not understand at the time. Some of the things we have endured or experienced have changed and prepared us for what we will be doing in this season of world transformation and reformation.
THE PEACE OF GOD THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING
Peace in our minds and hearts cannot be had through mental understanding and striving to survive or overcome. It is by walking in the Spirit and constant communion in love with God.
The storms of transition and transformation will not trouble our souls as we lean not to our understanding. In love with God enables us to know His ultimate power and wisdom and fully trust in Him beyond our understanding. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
You will know the way when you get there.
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.
